Every 3rd monday of the month our F.H.E. is going to be learning how to cook/bake something. Rita was able to chose what we were going to do and she wanted to learn how to make banana bread. James, Tina, Rita and I each made our own batch of banana bread, and we all did it by hand, no mixers. They didn't like that because it is somewhat difficult to mix the shortening, sugar and eggs with just a spoon. There are no slotted spoons in the house which would have helped out alot. But we did it anyways. Tina ended up using a wire wisk, which Emjae enjoyed eating off of after it was done.
While it was in the oven I let the girls know that if we bake and make a mess, we need to clean up after ourselves. They weren't too excited to do dishes, but not soon after we all started singing Disney songs. Even trying to think of songs that the other had to figure out what movie it was from. As soon as the bread was done we put Brother Bear in and sat down and watched it and ate our bread. The girls are still talking about how much fun they had!

I'm so proud of you coming up with great ideas like that and helping to teach the girls. You're a good role model.
